At Client Care Counselling your privacy and confidentiality are important. This policy explains how your personal information is collected, used, and protected in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Information Collected

To provide counselling services, I may collect:

• Name

• Date of birth

• Address

• Contact details

• GP details

 

Brief anonymised paper notes may also be kept following sessions. These notes do not contain identifying information.

I do not collect demographic information or use your data for marketing purposes.

How Your Information Is Used

Your information is used only for:

• Providing counselling services

• Managing appointments

• Maintaining safe and ethical practice

 

Your information is never sold or shared with third parties unless legally required or where there is a serious safeguarding concern.

 

Online Sessions

​

Online counselling sessions may take place via WhatsApp. While every effort is made to maintain confidentiality, online platforms are provided by third parties and may carry some security risks outside of my control.

 

Storage and Retention

 

Personal information is stored securely and treated confidentially.

 

Client records are retained for 7 years after counselling ends and are then securely destroyed in accordance with GDPR guidelines.

 

Website Use

This website does not use contact forms or online booking systems and does not collect unnecessary personal information from visitors.

 

Your Rights

 

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Request access to the personal information held about you

• Request corrections to inaccurate information

• Raise concerns about how your personal data is handled

If you have any concerns or complaints about how your personal information is handled, please contact me in the first instance so that we can try to resolve the matter promptly and fairly.
